(Reuters) – An 83-year-old artist known for his block letter “LOVE” design that became a symbol of the anti-war movement in the 1960s is being sued by a Monaco-based art dealer for renouncing the authenticity of sculptures once valued as high as $1 million. Beginning in 2008, art buyer Joao Tovar paid $481,625 for 10 sculptures of the word PREM, a Sanskrit term meaning “love,” from a one-time business partner of renowned pop artist Robert Indiana, Tovar said in the lawsuit filed in superior court in Rockland, Maine

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) – Kanye West professed his love for reality TV star Kim Kardashian in a new song leaked online on Thursday, and the pair were spotted out on the town in New York together. In “Theraflu,” named after the over-the-counter cough medicine, West raps about falling in love with the “Keeping Up With The Kardashians” star at the same time she fell in love with Kris Humphries, who she divorced last November after 72 days of marriage.

Michel Hazanavicius wins directing Oscar for "The Artist"

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) – Frenchman Michel Hazanavicius won the Oscar for best directing on Sunday for “The Artist,” a homage to Hollywood’s silent era that starred the filmmaker’s wife. The silent, black-and-white movie which also took the best picture award focuses on a fading star who finds redemption through the love of a woman just as silent movies are being taken over by talkies. It was Hazanavicius’ first Oscar nomination and his first win.
