Elton John cancels Vegas dates due to infection

NEW YORK (Reuters) – Singer Elton John was treated in hospital in Los Angeles for a serious respiratory infection that forced him to cancel performances this weekend of his “The Million Dollar Piano” show at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. In a statement posted on his website on Thursday, the British entertainer, whose hits include “Rocket Man,” “Your Song” and “Bennie and The Jets,” apologized for the decision and told fans he hoped to be performing soon. The singer said he developed a serious respiratory illness while performing on Sunday.

Heidi Klum files for divorce from Seal

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) – Supermodel and TV host Heidi Klum on Friday filed for divorce from her husband, the singer Seal, following the pair’s separation earlier this year, representatives for the couple said. Klum’s spokeswoman declined to give further details and said the “Project Runway” television star would not be making a statement.

Whitney Houston leaves fortune to daughter

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) – Whitney Houston, who died suddenly last month in a Beverly Hills hotel room, has left her fortune to her 19-year-old daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown, according to the singer’s will. Under terms of the will filed late on Wednesday in Atlanta, funds from the singer’s estate will be put in a trust to benefit her daughter. The young woman will get part of the principal when she turns 21, more money at age 25 and the balance when she celebrates her 30th birthday

Jessica Simpson strikes Demi-like nude pose for Elle

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) – A pregnant Jessica Simpson has taken a page from Demi Moore’s celebrity playbook in a nude cover photo for the April issue of Elle magazine, and the singer and actress has confirmed the baby will be a girl. In the cover photo released by the magazine on Wednesday, Simpson can be seen covering her breasts with her right arm and hand, and cradling her full abdomen with her left. She wears rings and dangling earrings, and her blond hair flows over her shoulder and chest.
